PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

• To become increasingly familiar with the company's value base and to t
ake an active role in continuous improvement in our pursuit of excellence.

• To assure the supervision of the personnel and the effective and effic
ient operation of the Quality Services Department.

• To assure the development and effective implementation of process cont
rol procedures and equipment at our vendors and within our own manufacturing d
epartment.

• To assure the development and effective implementation of quality audi
t procedures and reports.

• To establish and maintain customer confidence in our process control a
nd quality audit procedures.

• To provide quality assurance consultation to manufacturing, sales, pur
chasing and vendors as required.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Assures the anticipation and provision of personnel and equipment requireme
nts to meet the objectives of the Quality Services Department.

2. Assures the training, supervision, motivation and direction of all departme
nt personnel.

3. Assures the maintenance of job descriptions and the completion of annual co
nferences for all department personnel.

4. Assures the development and implementation of plans for personal growth, in
cluding, but not limited to, supplemental education for all department personn
el.

5. Assures the maintenance of discipline, order and efficiency of the departme
nt.

6. Assures the provision of quality audit documentation for purchased items an
d manufactured products.

7. Assures the publication of complete reports on the quality level of incomin
g parts and work done in production.

8. Assures early contact with suppliers and develops strong working relationsh
ip.  This includes an emphasis on process capabilities, inspection procedures,
and problem correction.

9. Assures the publication of complete data on the effectiveness of supplier a
nd production process capabilities and process control.

10. Assures the development, implementation and maintenance of process control
and quality audit procedures and equipment as required.

11. Assures the effective implementation of performance and life testing proce
dures and equipment.

12. Assures that calibration is done and calibration records are maintained on
all instruments and gages according to established procedures.

13. Provides quality assurance assistance to the Production, Materials Mgmt. a
nd Sales Departments as required.

14. Understands management philosophies, policies, and objectives.  Communicat
es, interprets, explains, and assures that all departmental duties and respons
ibilities are carried out in a way that is supportive and consistent with thos
e philosophies, policies, and objectives.

15. Sets the example of dedication, commitment, and integrity and integrity fo
r the department.


SKILLS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

1. Engineering degree or equivalent experience.  Prefer experience in the manu
facturing industry with mechanical engineering background.

2. Experience/expertise in inspection, process control and quality audit proce
dures.

3. Experience/skills in domestic and international customer requirements/relat
ionships. 


EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

• B.S graduate with appropriate level math, verbal, reading and writing
skills in English
