Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Seeking an entry-level industrial designer to join China studio,GEHC’ Global 
Design group. Candidate will have the primary responsibility of providing indu
strial design support for GEHC NPI programs supported by China design studio i
n CTC,Shanghai.  Selected candidate will be required to:
 
•	Conceptualize, generate and evaluate product designs including such co
mponents as system enclosures, controls & displays, patient positioners, and o
ther hardware design components
•	Address usability issues related to product design and product usabili
ty (end-users/ technologists, service, patients, etc)
•	Develop brainstorming sessions, visual designs, conceptual models, use
r scenarios, ergonomic studies, and 3D prototypes to contribute to the milesto
ne phases of Business Partners’ NPI activities.
•	Mentor & support Business Partners in the application of product desig
n and usability.
•	Provide CAD/ digital configuration for all design proposals as part of
 implementation process.
•	Be an active contributor in field studies, usability tests, focus grou
ps, MABs, customer surveys, and other user centered design methodologies. 
•	Work collectively with global design staff to deliver state of the art
 design solutions that reflect Global Design policies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

•	BA/BS Degree in industrial design
•	Strong 2D conceptualization, 3D, CAD, graphic, verbal & written commun
ication skills
•	Demonstrated ability to produce visual concepts, create prototypes, an
d deliver requirements for mechanical engineering team.
•	Demonstrated ability to deliver results and effective teamwork.



Desired: 
Strong confidence and open attitude. 

Out-of-box thinking ability.

Knowledge acquisition and methods mastery of design research.

Strong command of hand drawing.
Strong command of 3D software (at least including one of the following: Pro/E,
 IDEAS. Rhino);  and 2D software of Photoshop, illustrator, and flash or any o
ther multimedia software
Command of fabrication tools necessary to product full size and scale models o
f design solutions. This should include all wood working tools, foamcore fabri
cation techniques, plastic fabrication, and painting color study models.

This position is to cover both tactical and advanced development work for all 
modalities.
