2000年，新科投入巨资从美、日、德等国引进世界一流仪器设备，配合 原有的科技实验室及设备，构建了东南亚最大的专业科技实验中心，研究方向涵盖了磁记录分析、化学分析、表面分析和材料/产品机械性能分析等领域，使东莞新科成为集科研、开发、生产三位一体的高科技产品大规模制造基地。2001年，随著光通讯连接器件的投产，2002年电脑硬盘的生产, 实现了公司多元化的发展， 大大增强了公司的综合竞争力。
