Job Profile:

TRW Conekt is expanding its successful advanced control development activities, including control consultancy, system design and implementation, on-site control support and collaborative projects. We are looking to strengthen our global reach and to succeed in the global market place. We need a number of control engineers to work in China on new opportunities and to identify and drive forward control projects and applications.

This role requires 4 ~ 6 months initial training in the UK, and will then go on to be based at Conekt Shanghai Office (CSO) with TRW Shanghai Technical Center in Shanghai, P.R China. There may be a requirement to return to the UK for minimal periods on an annual basis.

Principal Responsibilities:

The control engineer will work with the CSO Control team and provide control consultancy, support, collaboration and system design solutions for a wide range of control engineering projects. The main responsibilities include:
?    Design, model, simulate, implement & evaluate both general and advanced control solutions and software for both Automotive and general industrial applications, using Matlab, Simulink and dSpace environments. Deliver work within a project team environment to agreed technical standards.
?    Identify new project opportunities with local customers. Provide advice, support & training to customers at their locations. Assist in preparation of technical & project specifications.
?    Collaborate with the local TRW centre/organisations, and supervise local subcontractors & suppliers.

Personal Quality Requirements:
?    MSc/PhD degree in Control, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
?    Good knowledge and experience of modelling, design, analysis and simulation of dynamic control systems. Knowledge of and familiarity with robust and multi-variable control theory and application. Experience of Matlab, Simulink and dSpace.
?    Awareness and enthusiasm to introduce and develop new control/software projects and collaborations. Previous industrial and/or project management experience will be a distinct advantage.
?    Fluent in both Chinese and English.
?    Good communication skills (written and verbal)
?    Pro-active with confidence and inter-personal skills for customer liaison.
?    A positive, well organised manner
