Job Profile:
Watson Wyatt offers a wide range of financial consulting advice to major corporate clients. As WW has recently established an Insurance and Financial Services ("IFS') consulting presence in Mainland China and our intention is to grow this into a significant business. We are looking for Life Insurance Actuarial Consultants to support the business development in the Shanghai office. Whilst focus will be placed on China, there will be some opportunities for the candidate to work across other countries in Asia with the rest of the life team.
Responsibilities:
As members of our consulting team, you will be involved in a variety of projects including:
Mergers and acquisitions
Insurance company restructurings and flotation.
Market entry strategies and research
Financial reporting (appraisal/embedded values, USGAAP, IFRS)
Business planning, product development
Appointed actuary certifications
Operational reviews
Insurance company software design and sales.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the successful candidate of the Life Actuarial Consultants, you are expected to have:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial study, Actuarial science, Statistics or other actuarial -related degrees; honors degree conferred is preferable
Strong actuarial professional knowledge and technical analytical skills.
Able to work independently as well as contribute effectively as a team player.
Attention to detail and commitment to task.
Well-organized, able to handle a variety of assignments and meet tight deadlines.
Strong computer software/programming skills. (e.g. spreadsheet, databases, VBA)
Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin.
As an actuarial Consultant, you will pursue actuarial fellowship qualifications, and will be provided with a comprehensive Exam Study Program.
