Job description: Hardware Engineers lead or work in project teams delivering and documenting new products.
Responsible for creating and maintaining all component libraries related to the corporate supported electronic design tool set. This includes the creation of graphical symbols and physical geometry data for component footprints. Must be able to interpret specification drawings and calculate dimensions for PCB CAD component footprint model definitions. This position involves support to projects, designers and manufacturing teams involved with PCA component definitions, development and final production release into a master library.
Qualifications Education Bachelor's (undergraduate), Master's (graduate) or Ph.D. (post-graduate) degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
Experience with PCB CAD layout and / or component library responsibilities preferred. Familiar with PCB design processes and component library building block techniques a plus. Experience with using the Cadence Allegro PCB CAD application would be beneficial. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and a good understanding of electronics and computer terms. Able to provide timely response to user requests and be highly customer and team oriented.
Skills Expertise in one or more of these areas: analog, mechanical, SIC/PAL/PLD, PC board, power system, or high level system design; computer server and I/O technologies, micro-processing, CAD tools/languages (Cadence, Mentor, Solid Designer, SPICE, Synopsis, Verilog, VHDL), electrical signal analysis, thermo analysis, USB firewire, VLSI design/architecture, etc. Commitment and self-motivation.
