Talented Chinese – English (Written) Translator Wanted 

Zeitgeist Media Literary Agency (ZM) and Shuyi Publishing (SP) are looking for
 a talented intern to assist with Chinese to English translation of a contempo
rary women’s novel based on a true stories. The candidate will have a modern 
outlook on life, a sense of humor and an interest in contemporary and hip Engl
ish writing. If you like the writing of Candice Bushnell and have strong Chine
se-English writing skills - this could be the break you are looking for. Pleas

Intern (Job) Description

	Exceptional talent in translating written Chinese to English 
	Exceptional spoken English and knowledge of popular contemporary Engl
ish language books. 
	Interest in books and women’s magazines. 
	Time spent overseas in an English speaking country (not essential) 

	Knowledge of contemporary Chinese novels and non-fiction books. 
	Interest in pop-culture and stories about modern Chinese life. 
	Enthusiastic self starter with go-getter attitude  
	Sense of humor and ability not to take oneself too seriously. 
	Person wanting to break into world of translating commercial Chinese 
novels into English.   
	Ability to take direction and learn from an English speaking publishi
ng editor. 
	Flexible work load and demands – we want to work with someone we lik
e and have an enjoyable time with. This will be a team effort and will not be 
a boss / worker set up.  
	Position could range from a few hours a week to up to 30 hours depend
ing on interns other demands.
