Job Description:

Sybase is looking to add development engineers to the Data Distribution Develo
pment team in Shanghai to work on the development of Sybase Replication Agent,
 which extends the capabilities of Replication Server® by allowing non-Sy
base (heterogeneous) data servers to act as primary data servers in a replicat
ion system based on Sybase replication technology. Replication Server is an in
dustry leading and expanding database replication product in the market, provi
des replication of database transactions/events from various database sources 
including Sybase, Oracle, Microsoft, and IBM to multiple targets including all
 previously mentioned databases as well as MQ Series, Tibco and JMS in a heter
ogeneous or homogeneous environment.

Education and Experience: BS/MS 2-5 years

Job Requirement:

Highly motivated and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. C
ommunicate well in English as well as work from design and functional specs wr
itten in English. 
Proficient in object-oriented design and Java programming, and have familiarit
y with software development analysis and design (UML). 
Previous working experience with at least one IDE such as Eclipse or JBuilder.
 
Have experience with RDBMS and SQL programming, Unix/Linux, Windows, and clien
t-server applications.  
Familiarity with software management utilities and tools, networking in Unix/L
inux or NT environment and threaded programming is highly desired. 
Debugging tools, shell programming, and TCL is a plus. 
Applies sound technical, projects and past experience in estimating task size 
and duration. 
Demonstrated ability to write functional specifications and design specificati
ons. 
Solid team player.
