Job Description:
Responsible for static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment, and packages for iPAQ handheld products. Designs and develops products, processes, systems or scientific applications using broad engineering concepts and research techniques or through directing and providing technical consultation to third parties. Documents research and design specifications and facilitates transition of product design, enhancement to full production.
Works independently and with other engineers in the development and improvement of the manufacturing process. Collects and analyzes data relating to the manufacturing process and/or manufacturing equipment. Reads and interprets plans and schematics relating to the manufacturing process. Supports factory equipment and its related processes. Maintains related documentation and incorporates changes throughout the manufacturing systems. Programs/debugs manufacturing equipment as needed. May conduct training classes relating to manufacturing equipment and procedures/processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experienced effectively dealing with conflict
Makes clear and effective presentations to inform and persuade peers and managers
Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically
Ability to establish clear goals and formulate plans to achieve them
Good problem-solving skills
Works independently and as part of a team
Excited about technology and has the desire to learn new tasks and technologies
Ability to learn risk management skills (understands risk, assesses risk qualitatively, and uses techniques to measure performance of subcontractors and vendors)
