Description
Agilent Laboratories, Agilent's corporate research center, is expanding its research capabilities in Agilent Technologies Shanghai (ATS). The objective of Agilent Labs is to investigate new technologies and applications which expand Agilent's product portfolio and market presence. This position is for an R&D Engineer with a focus on instrumentation for food inspection and emergency response in mobile and portable platforms. The position is based at ATS division. Some travel to the U.S. is expected.
The applicant is expected to:
- Configure instrumentation to create prototype mobile/portable instrumentation for evaluation.
- Work closely as a team with Agilent Labs researchers based in the US to create prototype instrumentation.
- Understand and integrate software tools across a variety of platforms..
- Act as an eye & ear on the ground for China and Asia Pacific to provide Agilent with inputs on emerging technology trends and capabilities.
Principal Activities:
- Near Term: Implement user interfaces to control prototype equipment.
- Mid Term: Implement code to maximize data extracted from measurements (i.e. deconvolution, library searching and signal processing techniques).
- Long Term: Design and development of new chemical detection technologies.
Qualifications
Must:
*Masters or above degree in Math, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering..
*Experience with signal processing or related applications.
* Proven strong skills with C+ and Java in the .NET environment
* Good command in English communication.
Preferred:
* Ph.D
* Experience with chemometric algorithms & techniques
* Strong background in algorithm development
