SSET (Solver Solution Engineering Team)

We are part of the supply chain organization in Intel. SSET is a fast growing 
team with more than 30 engineers world wide. We have staffs in US, Malaysia, C
hina and Philippines. Our key roles focus on developing and sustaining Supply 
Chain Management related optimization tools for Intel supply chain. As part of
 expansion and new initiatives, we are looking for candidates with strong Oper
ational Research/Industrial Engineering background as senior engineers in Pena
ng, Malaysia. The successful candidates will work in this department which is 
very energetic, fun to work with and opportunities to growth.


The roles and responsibility of the Rule Engineer (Intern)

In this position, you will be working with other senior data engineers to supp
ort the supply chain optimizers. You responsibilities will include but not be 
limited to: 
- Modifying, validating and exercising data systems in support of planning 
- Assisting in identifying data needed to model, work to get the data from dat
a source and/or owner and solve the data problems 
- Partnering with other development organizations in integrating and developin
g data architecture: interim or goal state 
- Supporting maintenance of solver database and data architecture 
- Identifying root causes of database problems and driving solutions to improv
e performance 
- Evaluating data architecture results by performing strategic what-ifs 
- Supporting planners during the tactical plan construction cycle by working w
ith users during solves to recommend model and/or solver solutions to achieve 
desired results 
- Driving and partnering with supplier organizations to develop monitors, anal
yze output and measure data quality improvements 


Requirements

You should be a student currently pursuing a Master of Science degree, a Maste
r of Engineering degree or a Ph.D. in some branch of computer science/engineer
, management information system, Industrial (and Systems) Engineering, and oth
er. Additional qualifications include: 
- Skills in database systems such as SQL* Server 
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills 
- Must be a committed team player 
- Strong communication and team skills 

The candidate needs work at least 4 days/week for around one year, and it is b
etter can work 5 days/week.
