The Global Partner Engineering (GPE) East Asia team has a vacancy for a Senior Technical Consultant. The position is based in China.
About GPE East Asia
===================
Charter for GPE East Asia is to -
Deliver world-class engineering help to Partners in East Asia to enable
them to succeed in local, regional and Worldwide markets.
Our focus is on Partners who do product development in East Asia region.
We do this by working with Partner\'s on:
o Porting (to Solaris, JES)
o Performance tuning
o Sizing and Benchmarking
o Technology adoption
Our other responsibilities include:
* Drive Java, J2EE adoption and other open standards
* Accelearte JES adoption
* Expand coverage in key market segments of applications through
evangelism, presentation, demonstration.
The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager for GPE East Asia
- James Bai.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
------------------------------------
* Provides technical consultant services to ISVs in east Asia. Focus on Korea(R.O.K).
* Advise software developers on architecture, methodologies,
practises and tools. Review customer\'s software development
plans and evangelise Sun\'s software roadmap.
* Lead in sizing, performance tuning, benchmarking activities for the
assigned partners.
Skills Required:
* speaker of Korean.
* Strong technical knowledge in Unix internals (Solaris preferred)
* Hands-on experience of debugging, performance tuning, sizing
* Hands on coding experience with C/C++/Java
* Knowledge of Object Oriented programming and design patterns
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in Mandarin or English
* Ability to influence technical managers and software developers
Qualifications:
--------------
- A Bachelor\'s degree (Master\'s preferred) in Computer Science, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in software development or software support.
