? Position/Title: Wireless Test Solution Engineer (R&D)

? Location: Beijing

? Division: PA-WP (Performance Analysis – Wireless & Positioning Division)

? Business Segment/Project Background: Spirent is expanding its capacity to develop Wireless Performance/Application test solutions. These test solutions are required to meet increasing customer demands for testing 3G applications on wireless terminals in a cost effective and timely manner. With the wireless R&D effort expanding into China, a highly effective team will be set up to facilitate this goal. We are looking for good engineers to design and develop testing system, which is capable of making performance and functionality test of components of wireless communication system, such as mobile, base station and etc.


Responsibilities:
? CDMA2000/WCDMA Test Solution Development
? Wireless test solution definition including requirements analysis and specification
? Detailed design of test solution using well defined software practices and techniques
? Implementation of test solution using combination of MS. Net technologies/languages and NI TestStand product.
? Verification and validation of implemented solution
? Ability to follow and desire to improve an established product realization process

Qualifications/Requirements:

General:
? Must work proactively and effectively with people from different culture.

Education:
? College background in EE/CS/Communications
? Master degree with minimal 2 years working experience in telecommunications industry, or bachelor degree with minimal 5 years working experience in telecommunications industry.
? Fresh graduates with a master degree and demonstrated excellence will also be considered.

Technical background:
? In-depth knowledge of Modern Telecommunication System
? Knowledge on one or more of the following system: GSM/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/IS-95/CDMA2000, on the following aspects:
? Network architecture (wireless network components and their relationship)
? Signaling protocols and process, especially air interface signaling protocols.
? Knowledge on Data Network such as TCP/IP
? Knowledge on software engineering

Experience/Skills:
? R&D experience on communication systems, especially on 3G wireless technologies
? Proficient in at least one OO programming languages, such as C++/C#/…
? Hands-on experience in working within a structured software development environment that includes Requirements Analysis/Definition, Design, Defect Tracking, Configuration Management Software and Structure Testing
? Experience on packaging and installation in Windows environment
? Experience with NI TestStand is a plus
? Experience with SQL database (such as MS SQL Server) programming is a plus
? Exposure in using or developing wireless drive test based solution is a plus
? Exposure to wireless device (CDMA) development and testing is a plus
? Experience with T&M lab instruments is a plus
? Experience with embedded HW/SW development is a plus

Language:
? Must have good English communication ability, both in written and spoken.
? Proficient in reading English technical documents, such as protocol spec and design documents.
? Proficient in writing technical materials (emails & documents…) in English.
