The success of PCCS Group Berhad (The Group) can be traced back to 1973 when the founders of the company, Mr. Chan Choo Sing and Mr. Chan Kok Hiang commenced operations with only three sets of second-hand sewing machines to manufacture garments in Batu Pahat. Years of hard work, persistence, and unrelenting drive to diversify into related businesses and a vision to venture overseas have resulted in the firm establishment of PCCS Group as one of Malaysia’s leading garment manufacturers. The pinnacle of success for PCCS Group, thus far, is the listing of the Company on the Kuala Lumpur stock Exchange Main Board in 1995.
The Group comprises of 19 subsidiary companies is engaged in ancillary services which include embroidering, labeling, fabric knitting and elastic webbing, marketing and distribution of its products overseas.
The Group has over the years created a niche for itself by achieving a competitive advantage in the textiles and apparels market, both locally and abroad. This is achieved through product differentiation in focused market segments. The Group is well positioned to manufacture, high value added garments that require stringent quality control, high skill and productivity level in Malaysia and at the same time can service the customers that require simple style, basic items at competitive prices through its overseas offices. Products consist of all ranges of adult and children apparels such as pyjamas, jackets, tracksuits, blouses, polo shirts, winter clothing and swim wear.
Being fully integrated, the Group is manufacturing quality products at a low cost without compromising on quality. Substantial amount of money have been invested in upgrading the plants, machinery, equipped with advanced technology. The Group is one of the pioneer users of the sophisticated CAD automatic cutting machine and CAD-CAM marker planner in the country. With the computerization of its operations, prompt management information can be obtained for decision-making. Definitely, these have led to cost reduction, the increased in efficiency and productivity.
APPARELS DIVISION
Incorporated in May 21, 1981, Perusahaan Chan Choo Sing Sdn Bhd (“PCCS”) is the pioneer apparel manufacturing company of the group. It has three factories in Malaysia with a total turnover of approximately RINGGIT 230million (USD60 million) in the year 2003. Approximately 98% of its products are exported overseas to the United States of America, Canada, Europe, Japan, Singapore and the Middle East.
PCCS manufactures for renowned brands like Adidas, Puma, The Gap, Old Navy, Cross Creek, Carters, Belk, Cleo, Finish Line, George, Littlewoods, Okaidi, Reebok, Rossignol, Tour Club, Super Tramp and Target Brands Inc. Build on 4.5 acres land with a total built up area of 100 000 square feet, PCCS Garment Ltd, was the off-shore apparel plant in Cambodia (PGL) since April 1998. It employs 2800 skilled workers & has an annual output of 580 000 dozens. To serve the increased orders from existing and potential customers, another plant, Jusca Garments (Cambodia) Ltd, was set up in October 2003, with designated annual capacity of 400,000 dozens.
Both plants in Cambodia are 100% exported to USA, Canada & Europe. Renowned brands manufactured include Adidas, Gap, Old Navy, Port Authority, JC Penney, Express and Puma.
