Mooter Media develops and implements technology for the effective placement of advertising on Internet publisher sites.
Mooter Media sells or licences this technology as a service to publishers and advertising aggregators in the high growth Internet advertising markets in Australia and across Asia. Mooter Media is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and is headquartered in Sydney, from where it services its global client base.
The Engineering team uses an Agile methodology, applying many of the key XP practices. The team uses and supports open-source technologies.
Mooter's infrastructure is required to support significant transactional and data volumes, distributed applications and databases, and failover arrangements to support a 24x7 operation.
Recruitment Requirement
The engineering team requires Systems Administration specialists to work in Mooter's Beijing office.
The successful applicants will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting Mooter's systems operations and infrastructure on Linux and supporting the Beijing office IT which is on Windows and Linux.
Under the local Engineering Manager, they will be responsible for the operation the Mooter Media China Data Centre and other data centres at other times as required, including after-hours monitoring and on-call support.
Other duties will be allocated as required in support of the development environment in Sydney and the monitoring of other sites around the world.

The ideal candidates would have the following skills:
a.Sound knowledge of networks (routers/switches), hosting sites/data centres and servers.
b.Sound knowledge of Linux OS preferably Ubuntu or Debian
c.Experience with Nagios or a similar monitoring system
d.Experience in office PC (Windows) support
e.A working knowledge of the java run-time environment
f.Shell scripting; ruby would be an advantage
g.Exposure to MySQL and replication
Required Personal Skills:
a.High-level of literacy in English (written and oral)
b.Ability to prioritise and work on several tasks at once.
c.Proactive and keen to learn new things
