Job Description
This position is responsible for complete, quality design of complex, dense, high-speed, high volume, double sided surface mount printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro, Specctra and Destiny routing tools and DFM (Adiva or Valor) verification tools. You will work closely with hardware engineers to implement design requirements of highly complex board layouts. You will also work closely with compliance, thermal, mechanical, safety, ICT and manufacturing engineers to ensure that Cisco standards for quality, DFM / DFA / DFT, safety and compliance are met. You will provide the project team with design schedules and status updates.
Skills Required
- BSEE with 5+ years, or MSEE with 3+ years, of experience working with Cadence Allegro tools
- Extensive experience in PCB design including placement, routing and fab/assembly/post process documentation.

Job Description
Candidates will work closely with all disciplines of the hardware design arena to implement requirements from the High-end Router Library Development team, HW engineering, power, mechanical, and manufacturing to insure that both the design requirements and Cisco producibility standards for PCB fabrication, assembly and test are met. Engage with entire Project/Library teams to provide schedule estimates, design status, communicating challenges, presenting solutions.
You will be responsible for mining datasheets within Cisco and externally to be used for all symbol creation and datamining for other design tools to leverage. You will create logic symbols used for schematic capture which adhere to Cisco design standards and test them through PCB for verification purposes, build and design physical footprints to industry and Cisco standards for all technologies. You will also provide the library team with options when design requirements create design and manufacturing conflict and compromise is necessary.
