SimpLight (北京简约纳电子有限公司), a fabless chip design startup, is hiring talented people to develop microprocessors and software tools for next generation mobile computing. You’ll work with a team led by a few world-class experts in their respective fields:

1. Wei Chen (陈卫), co-founder of McWill and one of the inventors of SCDMA. TD-SCDMA, an ITU 3G standard, is based on SCDMA.

2. Simon Moy (梅思行) , the architect of 4 generations of NVIDIA’s flagship GPUs from 1992-2002. These GPUs have been widely used in PC and Microsoft XBOX.

3. Sun Chan (陈新中) ，an expert in compilation and large-scale C/C++ software engineering. He led the development of SGI/Intel compiler and is still active in developing advanced compilation technologies.



We currently have 9 positions open with 5 in software and 4 in hardware. Student internship in software engineering is also open.



1) Software Engineer – Integrated Development Environment

Job Requirement:

Bachelor degree (or above) in Computer Science or related disciplines
Solid experience on software programming and testing (C, C++, assembly)
Strong experience in GUI development
Familiar with software development in Linux and cross development
Familiar with open source development environment Eclipse/CDT and able to write Plug-In for Eclipse
Attentive to learn, self-motivated, team working, and willing to work under pressure
Experiences in the following are a plus: scripting languages(shell, TCL, perl, etc.), embedded software toolchain
Applicant with good experience will be considered for senior position
Job Description:

Integrate C/C++, Assembler and other tools into Eclipse and write plug in when necessary
2) Software Engineer – Performance Library

Job Requirement:

Bachelor degree (or above) in EE or related disciplines
Strong experience in digital signal processing.
Solid experience on software programming and testing (C, C++, assembly)
Familiar with software development in Linux and cross development
Attentive to learn, self-motivated, team working, and willing to work under pressure
Applicant with good experience will be considered for senior position
Job Description:

Develop optimized software libraries for SimpLight’s own microprocessors;
Performance analysis for critical algorithms;
3) Software Engineer – Embedded System Software Tools

Job Requirement:

Bachelor degree (or above) in Computer Science or related disciplines
Solid experience on software programming and testing (C, C++, assembly)
Familiar with software development in Linux and embedded software development
Attentive to learn, self-motivated, team working, and willing to work under pressure
Experiences in the following are a plus: scripting languages(shell, TCL, perl, etc.), compiler
Applicant with good experience will be considered for senior position
Job Description:

Get involved in development work of one or several software tools: compiler, binutils, functional simulator
Involved in application performance analysis and tuning


4) Software Engineer – Embedded RTOS

Job Requirement:

Bachelor degree (or above) in Computer Science or related disciplines
Solid experience on software programming and testing (C, C++, assembly)
Familiar with embedded Linux OS or other embedded OS
2 or more years hands-on experience in RTOS
Attentive to learn, self-motivated, team working, and willing to work under pressure
Applicant with good experience will be considered for senior position

RTOS porting and performance tuning
5) Software Engineer - Video Codec IC Application

Job Requirement:

Bachelor degree (or above) in Computer Science or related disciplines
Solid experience on software programming and testing (C, C++, assembly, scripting)
Good knowledge on image and video coding
Proven experience in performance optimization of embedded software, e.g ., DSP, SSE or other hardware platform
Attentive to learn, self-motivated, team working, and willing to work under pressure
Experiences in the following are a plus: Video codec software models, e.g., JM8.x (H.264), AVS-M, and MPEG-2/4. Computer architecture.
Applicant with good experience will be considered for senior position.
Job Description:

Get involved in video codec processor development loop.
Design and implement hardware oriented video codec algorithms for advanced video coding standards
Evaluate and improve algorithms to balance between complexity and performance
Participate in performance optimization in different levels including algorithm level, code level and target hardware platform level
Conduct simulations to justify/improve hardware architecture design and optimize performance
6) SoC Project Director



Job Requirements:

1. 8+ years of related experience required.
2. MS degree preferred.
3. Experience in completing the entire flow of an ASIC project, which includes micro-architecture, design methodology, RTL coding, chip integration, timing closer, and chip tape out.
4. Project management and team leading experience required
5. Familiar with processor architecture and SoC design
6. Good documentation and communication, in both Chinese and English.


7) Senior ASIC Engineers


Job Requirements:
1. BSEE a must, MSEE preferred. 3+ years experience in ASIC design.
2. Hands-on experience in RTL coding and design verification.
3. Familiar with RTL coding and verification/synthesis flow.
4. Solid background in digital and SoC designs
5. Familiar with computer architecture and microprocessor design.
6. Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.


8) Verification Leads

Job Requirements:
1. BSEE a must, MSEE preferred. 4+ years experience in ASIC RTL verification
2. Experience in verifying designs at system level and block level is required
3. Experience in SoC projects is highly preferred.
4. Strong Verilog, Vera, PERL, TCL, and C programming skills.
5. Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.


9) Physical Design Engineer

Job Requirement:
1. BSEE a must, MSEE preferred, with 2+ years experience in IC backend design.

2. Hands on experience with Synopsys, Cadence, or Magma Place&Route tools, physical verification tools and STA.

3. Knowledge of RC extraction, timing analysis, signal integrity, and physical verification (DRC/ERC/LVS/ANT) is required.

4. C/C++, Perl, and Tcl programming skills are a strong plus.
5. Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.
6. Good team player and self-motivated.
