- Brief Job Description:
Serve as a liaison between the facilities, their suppliers, other Global Work Tools and Services facilities, and all teams addressing issues related to WT Quality. Work closely with GWTS and APD Product Support and Service Engineers, to investigate and address issues in the field. The critical element is to work closely with the suppliers and the facilities to prevent potential problems before they reach the field. Ensure that all Work Tools are serialized and properly documented, to facilitate tracking and reporting in the field. Manage all quality concerns as they pertain to Suppliers, Alliance Partners and Interplant facilities. Ensure that a robust Quality Plan is established and adhered to for all suppliers and facilities providing Work Tools into APD. Assist these facilities to establish Quality metrics to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Provide analysis and reports for the Product Group related to process control and product Quality. Provide technical leadership to evaluate source capability to meet Caterpillar standards. Arrange the necessary training and assure development plans are implemented to meet all APQP and GWT Quality requirements.
Eligibility:
Knowledge and experience with Caterpillar Work Tool products a definite plus.
Must have excellent communications skills both oral and written.
Must be customer oriented and must have excellent human relations skills to develop cooperative working relationships both inside and outside the company.
Must have a working knowledge of QRWB, Knowledge Network, and all corporate Quality systems.
Need technical knowledge from Engineering, Manufacturing, or Service Engineering type positions to understand the work tools requirements.
Commercial knowledge from field work or product support will be beneficial.
PC software competency, especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must.
