System Application Engineer

Job Duties High-Definition TV & IPTV system software, hardware and firmware development . Requires BS/MS with EE/CS and at least 2-year direct or indirect working experience

US Silicon Valley :

B. Requirements:

- System-level USB & video decoding & encoding applications expertise: ability to debug both hardware and firmware issues related to video decoding, processing, and display for digital television systems.
- Experience in USB and User interface design.
- Experience in DTV middleware is a big plus
- Experience in FPGA implementation
- Experience with MPEG video decoders is a plus.
- Experience with USB Video or set-up-box video decoders and system design
- System Design Support through platform testing, schematic review, system bring up and characterization.
- Verification of schematics and PCB layout.
- Trouble shooting customer problems.
- Interfacing with the design engineering, failure analysis marketing and sales organizations.
- Understand high speed board design and layout issues

C. Secondary Requirements:
- 2+ years of system level design & debugging experience .
- Strong understanding of Mips CPUs, chipsets, memory interfaces, PCI, LVDS, USB and graphics experience.
- Algorithm development by using MATLAB/SystemC/HDL simulation and verification
- System design with CPU, and chipsets for consumer electronics in set top box will be a big plus.
- Experience with new chipset bring-up and validation
- Understanding of BIOS, drivers and other software applications.

* Linux OS 2.4.X Version coding
* Java Virtue Machine (JVM) coding
* TCP/IP browser
