RESPONSIBILITIE
- Supports the development of new products by leading the manufacturing effort to define and drive DFA/M and DFT with the goal of reducing the assembly and test time, and increasing the overall product quality.
- Investigates and promotes cost avoidance efforts during the development process.
- Drives the evaluation and enhancement of the engineering design verification process with the goal of releasing zero design defects to production.
- Manages technical change to existing products through the RCN process.
- Drives the reduction in product costs of goods through the ongoing investigation and qualification of lower cost parts and more effective processes.
- Actively participates in the Defect Reduction Teams by working to identify and drive to resolution product issues.
- Ensures that Manufacturing receives the required level of product training.
SKILL REQUIREMENT
- Has a working understanding of system architectures, design concepts and engineering development practices.
- Demonstrates this understanding through a positive impact on the quality and productibility of the end product.
- Establishes technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
- Requires little direction from Manager.
- Works in partnership with the NPI Program Mgr.

- Handles large and complex projects and processes. Works with others to implement technical strategy.

- Reports to NPIE Manager or Senior NPI Manager. Interfaces with wide company wide BU, Mfg., partner, and CA personnel.
- Has a thorough understanding of the CAE and manufacturing tools used in the job. Takes an active role in the evaluation and enhancement of existing tools. Is also involved in investigating and evaluating new tools and equipment that will improve the quality of the product and efficiency of the group. Is able to train and mentor others in the use of tools and equipment.
- Demonstrates technical expertise in the use of multiple tools and pieces of equipment. Has a good understanding of the entire product development process.
- Works in conformance to established manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Promotes team conformance to established processes and procedures through formal and informal training and mentoring. Is perceived as a technical leader both within and across the organization.
- Fluent Mandarin and English is a must
