Requirement: 

Candidate research area must falls within solid mechanics, applied mechanics, 
mechanics of material (structural analysis), computational mechanics, finite e
lement modeling and computer simulation. Demonstrate capabilities of focus lin
e of research. 

 

Candidates with strong mathematical (mechanics) background and familiar with n
on-linear deformable mechanics will be an added advantage. 

 

Brief Research Areas: 

A non-solid wire-liked material is subjected to a series of trajectory motion 
to reach its static condition and form final shape.  The researcher is respons
ible to establish mathematical mechanics model to predict the trajectory of th
is series of motion in an accurate manner such that a particular shape can be 
formed. (Note: material is easily deformable when external force is applied on
 to it during a series of trajectory motion)
