The HP Inkjet Commercial Division develops leading-edge large format printers for a broad range aof markets and needs worldwide, being the first world wide supplier in this printing segment. This division has a product development team in Shanghai with the need of incorporating engineers devoted to maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace, ensuring that HP Image Quality and Systems are World Class and continuously improving.

Responsibilities:
Primary Functions
In a large format printer, the writing system is formed by different components and functions, like print heads, ink, color processing algorithms, sensors, pattern recognition software, dynamic mechanical systems, servos, control electronics, etc...
Writing System Engineers play lead roles in multi-discipline teams working on new products and solutions for printing and imaging. You will design, implement, test, and validate systems and components to deliver optimized image quality, throughput, and reliability for our printers.
Utilize best practices and approaches, leverage leanings across new product developments, such that Image Quality Robustness is delivered to each new product development, utilizing experience from other products and activities.
Develop an atmosphere of continuous improvement and 'Best in Class'processes and systems.
Provide technical leadership where necessary to drive improvement in the writing system robustness, liaison with other groups and offsite partners to ensure successful delivery of product objectives and timelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include some of the following:
Modify and improve writing systems,
Understand and develop solutions for printing algorithms, and other interactions of system parameters, to customer perception of image quality
Design and develop algorithms to deliver desired image quality, reliability, and throughput
Lead and strive to develop and atmosphere of 'invention' and support new and better ideas in delivering on the HP Brand promise
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with print head and ink partners to define objectives, understand issues, and develop solutions
Interact with all other project disciplines and development partners to solve multi-disciplinary performance issues
Understand and develop solutions for system performance issues that affect customer perceived image quality and reliability
Qualifications
Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or Master's (graduate) degree or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline.
Have demonstrated aptitude for design fundamentals, have hands-on working style.
Experience in design of experiments of complex systems, with multiple parameters to monitor and control.
Have worked on detail design and sub-system or system integration for at least one product development cycle in R&D.
Desirable experience in programming in C++ or script languages (TCL, Python,...)
Be fluent in English
Are creative and can logically simplify a complicated problem set
Have excellent teamwork and communication skills
