JOB DESCRIPTION - ENERGY & MATERIALS OPERATIONS ANALYST


Energy & Materials Operations Analyst

Our Client is a leading global consulting company, with an unparalleled 
reputation for providing high impact strategic, organizational and 
operational consulting services to major global and local Chinese companies.

As part of an expansion of their operational consulting services to leading 
Chinese companies in the energy and basic materials sectors, our Client is 
currently looking to add exceptional candidates to their Shanghai office as 
Energy & Materials Operations Analysts. Successful candidates will have at 
least 2 to 3 years experience within these industry sectors in a 
manufacturing and/or commercial role, and will make significant impact by 
applying their industry knowledge to directly advise clients, or by 
providing backup and support to other client service teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
"   Play a key role in data gathering for the client service team
"   Contribute to the client service team's efforts in
    *   identifying issues
    *   forming hypotheses
    *   planning and conducting interviews and analyses   
    *   synthesizing conclusions into recommendations
"   Present their work to senior client executives
"   Support, train and help client team members to implement operational 
    change programs in client organization


REQUIREMENTS
"   Strong interest and willingness to pursue operations orientated 
    consulting work, e.g.: six sigma, lean manufacturing, sourcing, process 
    redesign, etc.
"   At least 2 to 3 years experience gained in a blue-chip petroleum, 
    chemicals, power or metals & mining company, or management consultancy, 
    with good knowledge of operational topics from within the 
    previously-mentioned industry context
"   Educated to a minimum of Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related 
    discipline, with a strong academic record 
"   Sound commercial awareness and numerical skills
"   Excellent communication skills
"   Proven team player with the ability to show personal initiative
"   Native Chinese language skills; proficiency in written and spoken 
    English, with fluency a plus
