Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
1. Selling Responsibilities:
Promote the breadth of BEA\'s professional services solutions to increase business opportunity, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction, while achieving assigned booking and revenue goals
In partnership with BEA Sales , perform selling function using a solutions selling approach with a focus on penetration and expansion of existing accounts within assigned accounts
Prospect and develop qualified pipeline of services opportunities within existing accounts and prospect and close on opportunities in conjunction with BEA Sales
Implement account expansion programs by leveraging Consulting and Education Services offerings and future programs as they are announced
Develop account plans through a collaborative process with BEA Sales
Responsible for implementing, managing and achieving Professional Services account plan within owned accounts
Understand client\'s business (critical success factors, markets, customers, competition) and set account strategies to complement the client\'s goal
Articulate Professional service\'s value proposition to BEA Sales and clients
Leverage technical resources to assist in pre-sales activities
Assess key decision makers\' needs and determine the appropriate sales message and service offerings to meet customer needs
Serve as primary services escalation point for Sales within account
Develop and deliver pre-sales presentations and proposals
Develop business terms and conditions for professional engagement contracts; drive professional contract negotiations
Communicate regularly with Sales Management, Practice Management as necessary on account status and engagement issues
In conjunction with practice management, drive and coordinate decisions for non-standard terms, conditions, pricing, and account and/or opportunity issues
Qualifications/Necessary Skills MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
3 year min. in \"front line\" technical professional, either as an individual contributor or project manager
3 year min. of Professional business development and account management experience
Education: B.S. degree in computer science or related field (experience will dictate whether computer science degree is absolutely required)
Familiarity with application(s) of BEA, or BEA-like products
At least 1-2 years experience selling to executive-level (CEO, CTO, CIO, CFO, COO or VP Marketing)
Experience with Solution Selling
Ability and willingness to travel
2.Job Title: Principal Consultant
Location: Beijing
Job Description:
To assist BEA clients in meeting their e-business objectives by providing superior professional services and solutions based on BEA technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
1. Business Development Responsibilities
• Support Practice Management and Sales Representative with sales calls and pre-engagement scoping
• Develop client relationships and articulate client issues to Practice Management
• Identify additional opportunities for business through extension of existing work or through new work within existing accounts
2. Engagement Responsibilities
• Responsible for designing the architecture of large-scale e-business projects with a focus on application architecture
• Produce deliverables that meet the engagement budget and schedule and satisfy client requirements
• Submit all time and expense reports in time to allow timely billing to the client
• Develop documentation that meets relevant quality standards, is technically accurate, and fulfills engagement objectives and is presented in a professional format
• Provide feedback/enhancement requests to product development about BEA products/tools during engagements
• Communicate regularly with manager regarding project status and participate in post-mortem reviews
• Identify engagement issues and recommend appropriate solutions to management
• Provide onsite customer mentoring and support of one or more BEA products
4. Engagement Management/Leadership Responsibilities
• Communicate closely with manager about schedules, deliverables, possible risks, and appropriate contingencies
• Assist team in determining client requirements and in scoping and estimating efforts
• Serve as team lead on engagements (depending on scope)
• Provide guidance and technical direction to team members
• Assist in identifying project requirements, strategies and schedules in support of engagement letter(s) and contract(s)
• Execute the project work plan and inform management when revisions are necessary to meet changing needs and requirements
• Monitor time and resource requirements for each task under your control to ensure adherence to engagement schedule and budget and client requirements
• Assist in defining engagement standards and ensuring their use
• Apply appropriate tools and methodologies relating to architecture development
• Manage iterative software development process with a focus on application architecture
Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of key BEA products
• In-depth knowledge of at least 2 BEA products
• In-depth knowledge of BEA roadmap for at least 2 products
• Ability to design and develop distributed applications for full lifecycle projects
• In-depth knowledge of distributed object models (OMG CORBA, Java/RMI)
• In-depth knowledge of J2EE platform specifications
• In-depth knowledge of UML and architecture modeling tools
• In-depth knowledge of system connectivity, scalability, clustering, and high availability
• Working knowledge of capacity planning, performance forecasting, and/or system tuning
• Working knowledge of operation, administration, and monitoring of BEA Products
• Working knowledge of distributed operating systems (i.e., UNIX, NT)
• In-depth knowledge of transaction processing
• Working knowledge of profiling and performance management tools
• In-depth knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Working knowledge of software engineering patterns and their application
• In-depth knowledge of software development languages, including C, C++, and java
• In-depth knowledge of XML
• Working knowledge of several types of enterprise architectures and how/when to apply them
• In-depth knowledge of iterative and incremental architecture development process
• Working knowledge of architecture risk assessment and mitigation
• Typically 8-10 years relevant technical work experience in Electric/Taxation industry
• Typical experience in consulting, managing projects, and/or developing software solutions in distributed computing systems area At least 5 years hands on application design and development experience on BEA WebLogic Platform
• Typical experience in consulting and/or developing software solutions in distributed computing systems area Extensive hands-on software design/development experience using J2EE technology Hands-on architecting/development/implementation experience for portal/EAI projects
• Ability and willingness for extensive travel and site station, as necessary
• Fluent in English/Mandarin speaking and writing
Education:
• Education: B.S. degree, preferable in computer science, information systems, engineering, or mathematics
• Advanced degree in computer science or related field is preferred
