Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
*  Ability  to  work  closely  with  global  teams  to  initiate  and  develop
  technology  of  process  &  machine  health  monitoring  for  conventional 
machining  (grinding,  turning  and  milling)  through  multiple  sensors  (po
wer,  force,  accelerometer,  acoustic  emission,  etc.)  to  predict-prevent
faults  and  improve  productivity;
*  Develop  monitoring  and  control  system  using  the  National  Instrument
s  platform;
*  Design  and  conduct  machining  experiments,  record  research  data,  acq
uire  and  manage  signals  to  develop  process  models  for  data  analysis
and  decision-making;
*  Document  research  results  through  patent  applications,  technical  rep
orts,  and  publications;
*  Identify  innovative  technology  ideas  based  on  business  needs  and  d
omain  knowledge.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*  PhD  or  M.S.  in  Mechanical/Electrical  Engineering  or  equivalent;
*  Three  years  of  experience  in  sensing  and  data  acquisition  for  gri
nding,  turning  and  milling  processes  monitoring;
*  Ability  in  signal  processing  and  intelligent  algorithm  development 
for  prognostic  machining  and  condition  based  maintenance;
*  Proficiency  in  Matlab  and/or  Labview;
*  Proactively  work  with  global  businesses  to  address  any  machining  i
ssues  or  needs  and  project  management  experience  is  a  plus;
*  Strong  communication  skills  in  both  Chinese  and  English.
