Key Job ElementsThe Key Job Elements Include:
Performs testing and troubleshooting of locomotive systems
Assists in implementing engineering changes;
Participates in solution of engineering related product problems (Root Cause);
Provides technical direction to support personnel;
Works with engineering personnel at EMD and D-Loco to support build and test programs;
Executes product plans with supervisor guidance;
Communicates technical information to and from internal and external manufacturing, supplier & customer organizations;
Coordinates and consults with groups outside engineering including manufacturing, suppliers, etc.
Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products;
Regular contact with others outside the work group;
Extensive travel both within China and to North America

QualificationsEducational Qualifications Include:
Required:
BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering
Training in college level theoretical and applied mechanics, vibrations, fluid dynamics, physics, metallurgy, electricity, thermodynamics, heat transfer and manufacturing techniques
Training in computer applications
Preferred: Advanced college degree with major in engineering.
Additional Candidate Qualifications Include:
Required:
Excellent oral and written communications skills in both English & Chinese;
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with other groups including partners and customers
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult;
Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design;
Understanding of design and manufacturing processes;
Ability to work independently and with others;
Knowledge of computer engineering software.
