Job Description
Title: Business Intelligence Engineer (specialist - expert)
Job Summary:
The Outsourcing Reporting team is to provide the Business Intelligence solutions that position HPS Global Delivery as the leading provider in the Service Performance industry. Service Reporting must become a differentiator that drives new revenue as opposed to an expense. The major areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Monitor the implementation of the DWH, identify variances from the architectural model and direct re-alignment between the architecture, the design and the implementation
Architecture modeling using object-oriented, service oriented methodology
Data model in Erwin
Provide leadership, mentoring and direction for BI team members
Recommend quality control and design and development standards
Write specifications, documentation, debugging and efficiency recommendations
Capabilities analysis and consulting
Work 'hands-on' in a BI environment
Implement policies and procedures for technical environment - file and space management, archiving, disaster and recovery, production implementation standards, testing procedures
Review and evaluate systems utilization related to responsiveness, processing, capacity and reliability
Analyze problems and propose, present and propagate solutions or practices to meet architectural challenges
Work with architectural teams to ensure plans comply with architectural standards
Qualifications
Bachelor (undergraduate) or Masters (graduate) degree in computer science
Strong people skills and technical management skills
Strategic and tactical thinking capabilities
Strong presentation, communication and facilitation skills
Strong knowledge of Unix development system & Intel Windows platform
Expertise using SQLServer 2000 and ORACLE 10g
Data Modeling & expertise working with large databases, advanced understanding of relational and dimensional databases
Experience writing SQL language and stored procedures for Oracle
Expertise in developing quality-measurement metrics, data profiling, testing plans, and initial load/unload/reload procedures
Experitise in high-performance, high-volume data storage technologies, and high-bandwidth, high-capacity data communication networks
ETL design, development, configuration management and administration experience using SQL Server DTS and Informatica a plus
Experience in working with Portals, Front office tools integration, networking, data source connectivity, security risk assessments
Working knowledge on OV Suite of Products (OVIS, OVPI, OVSR, OVSD etc) a plus
Working knowledge on OLAP (Cubes Setup, Partitioning etc)
In depth knowledge of ITIL and ITSM experience is a plus
Workflow system knowledge is a plus
