Job Summary
Reporting to Engagement Director or General Manager, the Engagement Manager (EM) job role is an individual contributor role, responsible for the Software Professional Services (PS) & Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) Outsourcing client engagement activities of a market area, such as geography, industry or accounts.
Client engagement activities include business development, customer relationship coverage, services/solutions sales & project delivery P&L. Objectives include achieving territory financial goals such as booking, revenue & profit.
Job Description
Responsibilities
1.Work with company & channel sales team to qualify sales leads. Define and execute deal winning strategy; lead business aspects and support technical aspects of proposal development. Lead sales calls on software PS, ADM outsourcing & software solution-based selling activities with other business units.
2.Act as sales manager on solution/services deals. Prepare pricing, margin analyses & cost estimate and follow management review/approval process. Prepare & execute business contract & SOW with support from Practice Manager/Director on non-business content.
3.Support delivery project PM to manage project P&L, quality, schedule & customer satisfaction.
4.Provide support to sales operation including pipeline, booking, revenue, invoice & AR management.
5.Organize and if appropriate, conduct solution workshop and assessment to understand customer’s business vision and IT strategy, capture functional, technical and integration requirements & define implementation roadmap,.
6.Evangelize MFO outsourcing services to win mind share from customer and SI/ISV management. Present specific services offerings including Portal, Identity Management, EAI/SOA & ADM to customers, partners and during industry or marketing events/forums.
Qualifications and Experience
1.6-10 years of experience in IT e-Business Solution Development and Systems Integration, with 1-3 years in a professional services sales or business development role.
2.Experienced in account and customer relationship development, competitive analyses, proposal development, negotiation and bid management.
3.Record of project management and leadership in implementation projects of Enterprise Information Portal, Enterprise Content Management, e-CRM/e-Commerce, e-Banking and/or e-learning solutions.
4.Architecture experience with e-Business/EAI/CRM products, including Sun JES, BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere or WebMethods required.
5.Track record in selling SW PS & ADM engagements involving advanced hardware/software products, integration and partnership with ISV/SIV vendors.
6.Experience in business/IT operation process in brokerage, banking, insurance, telecom, and/or manufacturing a plus
7.Mobility and willingness to travel 50% of time in PRC, HK and TW to support regional business.
8.Bachelor degree in CS, EE or equivalent. MBA preferred.

Practice Development – Develop reusable pre-sales/delivery content, programs & best practice;

Mandatory qualification & experience:
Overseas education and/or work experience required
5 plus experience in Java-based application architecture, implementation & deployment, more than 2 years in a technical PM/architect role
Technical pre-sales experience for Java development & consulting
Development experience with large-scale Java application systems
Integration experience with Java-based software products
Architecture & OOAD experience in UP, XP using UML, Pattern and framework
System production experience using testing, optimization & deployment tools
Experience working in a matrix and remotely managed environment
Communication, teamwork & presentation skills
Travel up to 50% of time in Greater China
Preferred qualification & experience:
Technical deal maker in closing large & complex solution deals
Delivery management including customer satisfaction, escalations, crisis management and resolution
IT architecture or strategy consulting experience
PMP or Prince II certification
Leadership & Entrepreneurial skills
