A Post-Doc (Research Fellow) position is available in National Univ of Singapore
Location Identification
The project is to develop techniques to identify the 3D location of a point in space where a series of images is taken. It is assumed that a rough 3D model of the location is available. It is related to, but not the same as, 3D model re-construction problem. As the images are taken from the same point, it is not possible to re-construct 3D model and perform direct model matching. A combination of model matching, key component matching (say extraction and matching of windows in buildings, corners in building and their spatial relations etc), and image matching is necessary.
The background preferred: computer vision, 3D model re-construction and matching.
The project has one remaining year. Extension is possible on other related projects.
