POSITION TITLE: Translator / Interpreter

LOCATION: Beijing, China

BACKGROUND:

An international leading financial services firm. Its businesses cover full spectrum of investment banking products in the capital markets.
JOB PURPOSE: The translator will be part of the firm\'s Equity Research publications team, and will translate documents from English to Chinese, ensuring the timely publication of high-quality Chinese-language research in hard copy format and through electronic media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Translate research documents of varying lengths into Chinese to a very high standard and within varying timeframes - document subjects include Chinese A-share and H-share companies, sectors, strategy and economics;

Liaise with authors to ensure mutual satisfaction with translated documents;

Coordinate with publications team in Hong Kong to ensure documents are published on time;

Ensure all Chinese-language documents are formatted to house style;

Able to translate at least eight pages a day to print-ready quality;

Must be familiar with equity research and all business sectors, including technology and financials;

Use of simplified Chinese characters.

REQUIREMENTS:

Strict attention to detail, ability to work independently for long periods;

At least three years experience in the financial services sector, either at an investment bank or an annual report company;

University degree in languages/translation or equivalent; certification preferred.
