The purposes for the recruiting.

1.For 2007 summer intern
We have no limitation on grad year and degrees for internship, but 2008 
grads are priority. 

2.For 2007 full time recruiting
The recruiting is actually not only for interns, we'd also like to post it 
and process it for summer full time recruiting. 

For instance, if the students who are 2008 grad, but couldn't join us as 
intern due to their busy projects, we encourage you to refer them for fall/ 
spring intern or/and full time SWE applicants. We will then process them 
for full time position before summer campus recruiting season. 

Thus, the opportunities are opening to both SWE intern and SWE full time.

Position based in Beijing and Shanghai, China.

pursuing degrees in Computer Science or a closely related area. If you are 
interested in working with some of the best software engineers and 
researchers on some of the hottest technology present on the web, then this 
internship is for you. Google offers opportunities to solve fascinating 
problems in many different areas of computer science including: building 
large-scale distributed file systems, designing and improving software that 
can crawl and index billions of web pages, applying machine learning 
techniques to learn relationships and associations within our data. 

Requirements: 
"   Currently pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related technical 
field. 
"   Extensive experience in Systems Software or Algorithms. 
"   Excellent implementation skills (C++, Python). 
"   Knowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows environments and APIs. 
"   Familiarity with TCP/IP and network programming is a plus.
