European investor based in Belgium but traveling often to shanghai looking to invest in contemporary Chinese Art is looking to recruit an art student on a part time basis with a passion for and deep knowledge of the Chinese contemporary art scene. The responsibilities of this person will be to:
1. analyse the Chinese contemporary art market in order to understand trends in the market and to develop deep knowledge about "who's who" in the market (artists, merchants, galleries,...)
2. identify key artist (both confirmed and up and coming) and develop good understanding for market price levels for these different artists
3. make recommendations about which artists to invest in
4. develop relationships with artists and galleries in order to be able to buy directly at source
The profile of the person we are looking for is:
1. somebody with passion and extensive knowledge of the Chinese contemporary art scene
2. extraverted personality able to establish a very good network of key players in this market
3. very good English skills (both written and verbal)
4. available immediately to work part time (average 1-2 days a week, with possibility of working weekends and evenings)
5. Salary: negotiable
