ate Summer Consultants recruitment activities with a series of interview sessi
ons and events for 3rd Year students interested in our Shanghai office.

Summer Program overview
The primary role of a summer consultant is to make immediate, direct contribut
ions to our ongoing case efforts for our clients. To do this, consultants must
 perform the following activities:

1. Participate in a case team setting in developing hypotheses, gathering data
, brainstorming alternatives, and generating recommendations; 

2. Work collaboratively with case team members from both the Action Company as
 well as other Monitor Group companies; 

3. Manage project activities in the formulation of marketing strategy through 
a deep understanding of the customer; 

4. Integrate broad sets of data into frameworks which can then be used to synt
hesize learning and develop strategy; 

5. Determine the appropriate analysis techniques and supervise the analysis of
 existing and new customer and client data;

6. Developing skills and tradecraft in areas such as strategy formulation, cas
e team and client interactions, and research design and analysis.

Training is provided primarily on the job and through on-going mentorship rela
tionships.  The program includes an introductory session to introduce you to M
onitor Group’s strategy and an overview of our methods and group company stru
cture.  Finally, numerous social and informal events are planned, so you can g
et to know the firm on a more personal level.

Qualifications
Successful summer consultant applicants will meet each of the following criter
ia:

1. English as well as command of local language;

2. A strong and demonstrated interest in strategy consulting;

3. A base level of knowledge in business strategy, marketing, finance, operati
ons, and data analysis techniques;

4. Excellent academic credentials;

5. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
;

6. Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently.

Program Description:
- The 8 week program is designed to give Summer Consultants an experience
that reflects as much as possible the typical experience of a full-time
consultant at Monitor
- Summer Consultants work with Monitor case teams on projects that enhance
our clients' long term competitive position and performance in ways that are
distinctive, innovative, and sustainable.
- At the end of the 8 weeks, all summer consultants will be evaluated based
on their performance and full time offers will be given out to qualified
individuals

Requirements:
-  Undergraduate or graduate students graduating in the summer of 2008
-  Excellent academic credentials for both undergraduate and graduate
coursework
-  A strong and demonstrated interest in strategy consulting
-  Background or experience (through coursework or employment) in marketing,
quantitative analysis and financial analysis
-  Knowledge in business strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and data
analysis techniques
-  Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and
verbal
-  Leadership qualities with project management skills
-  Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently

Main Activities in the Program:
1.Partner with client teams in developing hypotheses, gathering data,

(strategy consulting) as well as other Monitor Group companies like M2C and
Grail Research
3.Integrate broad sets of data into frameworks which can then be used to
synthesize learning and develop strategy
4.Determine the appropriate analysis techniques and supervise the analysis
of existing and new customer data by undergraduate consultants

Training:
Training is provided primarily on the job and through on-going mentorship
relationships.  The program includes an introductory session to introduce
you to Monitor Group's strategy and an overview of our methods and group
company structure.  Finally, numerous social and informal events are
planned, so you can get to know the firm on a more personal level.
