Based in Beijing, reporting direct line to BG Lead in China subsidiary, and dotted line to the MED product group.
Responsibilities:
MED, the fastest-growing business in Microsoft, seeks a smart, agile, creative and hardworking Mobile Operator Marketing Manager, with the following three major areas of responsibility:
Strategy and Planning: Work with the BG lead, and various teams within the MED product group to own the MO-specific Go-To-Market (GTM) plan and to define the core set of strategies for specific Mobile Operators and their given Windows Mobile + solutions device proposition. This GTM plan should incorporate both launch and sustaining programs to increase Windows Mobile device market share in China, selling/marketing both solutions and Microsoft mobile devices.
Marketing Orchestration: Build off of the GTM plan and direct/coordinate the real-time MED marketing activities associated with a given MO Commercialization Plan. The Operator Marketing Manager will lead MED efforts for marketing "through" the Mobile Operators and driving the broad adoption of Microsoft's mobile devices including Pocket PC Phone Edition and Smartphone to the end user. Execute business and marketing plans to establish, grow, and maintain successful business between Microsoft and the Mobile Operator.
Process Improvement: Help identify, develop and implement mobile operator marketing process improvements. Serve as a change agent to further build the GTM planning and execution competency and a successful relationship marketing approach to drive satisfaction, loyalty and revenue for both Microsoft and the Mobile Operator.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Very strong marketing planning and implementation experience -- will have successfully implemented complex and cross-organizational marketing projects and product launches
Product knowledge - must understand Windows Mobile from both technology and business angles
Track record and contacts - must have proven successes in GTM coordination, and also good, verifiable personal connections in key provincial China Mobile offices
Strong cross-group collaboration and organizational agility, with the ability to make things happen in a Corporate environment across divisions
Good communication skills (including presentation experience), with excellent negotiation and planning skills
Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time
Hard driving customer focus, results-oriented
