Work Purpose
The Licensing Specialist works as an overlay resource with the Central Region Sales team and will develop and implement licensing solutions that result in high customer
satisfaction while maximizing customer revenue contribution across MS products and service offerings. This person will provide product licensing and services solutions to customers located in Ontario with a focus on the Enterprise Agreement program.
Roles and Responsibilities
The person will be primarily responsible for executing all licensing agreements within established Field Empowerment once customers agree to an agreement with Microsoft. Work with the territory account executives (both inside and field) and work with customer purchasing or licensing contacts to bring a fast, efficient close to an agreement. If a programmatic solution is not available then a custom licensing agreement must be created in conjunction with the Business Desk depending upon the revenue opportunity. In several cases the person will directly participate in negotiating standard final terms and conditions necessary to close product licensing and services contracts. Engage and partner with the Large Account Resellers/ESAs to ensure leveraged channel involvement in order to decrease MS field resources required and maximize customer satisfaction. This individual will also need to communicate customer requirements and licensing/services solutions to Regional Sales Managers, the Business Desk and field sales on a regular basis.
Other roles this person will be engaged with include:
Improve customer licensing experience
Qualifies customers for appropriate licensing program
Consult with field and inside sales on complex EA deals
Maximize revenue from deals (manage discount; exploit up-sell opportunities (include additional products like MS Press, Visio, Project, PSS/MCS, etc)
Develops licensing solution and delivers proposal including financial analysis
Licensing deal closer
Closes agreements
Utilize skills to shorten sales cycles
Establish and maintain business relationships with LAR executives and reps
Responsible for working with Business Systems Analyst to track and measure MS Sales through MLGP.
Single point of contact for internal and external sales contracts and licensing issues.
Pipeline managed independently and collaboratively via Siebel with regional sales teams
Development of best practices that pro-actively drives business standards and deal consistency.
