In 2002, Saint-Gobain Group has jointly invested 99MUSD with the leading Korean company, HanGlas group, to set up a new company Saint-Gobain HanGlas Sekurit (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SGHSS) to manufacture automotive safety glass. SGHSS now occupies an area of 250,000 m2 with more than 1100 employees. SGHSS has been awarded several automotive glass projects by many famous automotive manufacturers such as Hyundai-KIA, DPCA, FAW-VW, Renault-Samsung, GM Daewoo and others.
