PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
B1 Solution Architect (SA) helps the B1 ISV global community to deliver best-in-class solutions based on the B1 core platform.
He/she will work in strict collaboration with the local field organization and is directly involved with the external ISV organization to provide training, design and best-practices consulting in order to facilitate the development on solutions based on B1 platform.
He/she will work in strict collaboration with Product Management and Development in Israel, China, US and Germany in order to provide effective and up-to-date knowledge to ISV partners.
He/she will support the global B1 Developers community through the SDN website.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
-Hands-on programming skills: ideally .Net platform, XML, SOAP, COM, Java, SQL.
-Knowledgeable in software development processes: already exposed to requirement analysis, architecture definition and formal certification processes. Exposure to project management is a plus.
-Technical and business background in SMB software applications.
-Excellent presentation and networking skills: English strictly required, other languages are a plus.
-Open and self directed: willing to work in an international environment and to travel.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Engaged by the Field, the SA works directly with external ISVs organizations in order to:
-Present the overall B1 core platform, helping ISVs to position the value proposition, to understand the future directions of the product, to clarify its functionality, architecture, interfaces and associated development tools
-Assess the technical capability of external organizations and their capacity to fit into the B1 offered interfaces and run-time and to deliver within the requested quality standards.
-Train the developers, either delivering standard training material or providing tailored ad-hoc workshops, and exposing them to features in earlier releases of B1 product
-Help ISVs to specify the functionality for the envisaged solution and define a best-in-class architecture, covering:
a.Platform choice
b.Functional analysis
c.Data integration
d.Look-and-feel
e.Packaging and deployment
f.Performance and stability
-Expose ISVs to B1 development guidelines and test automation tools.
SA will 'roll-in' ISVs requirements into SAP B1 Product Management, and will support and consolidate the implementation of documented requirements. He/she will cooperate to test the development features of B1, producing best-practices either in form of documentation or in form of code samples and tools. He/she will monitor the Global B1 Developers community through the SDN website.
