System Development Engineers play a leading role in multi-discipline teams working on new products and solutions for printing and imaging.
In this role, you will not only design, implement, model, test and validate systems and components, but also solve challenging technical problems. You will partner with engineers inside and outside the Shanghai site to deliver inkjet system that meet customer needs and achieve HP’s stringent image quality, throughput and reliability goals.
Depending on your background discipline and your personal interest you would focus more in one or another area: electronics, software, mechanics, physics…
Key Duties and Responsabilities
Specify, design, develop, integrate and validate multidisciplinary R&D assets that will include some of the following: Algorithms development High precicion mechanical designs Electronical and ASIC functionalities Embeded software Color and Image processing Design experiments and testing to optimize and validate designs. Develop models in order to anticipate expected performance of the system and anticipate issues. Integrate the whole system to deliver desired image quality, throughput, and reliability. Develop and maintain effective international working relationships with technology overseas partners. Some travel may be required. Define, set up and run prototype hardware to answer key technical investigations. Technical lead of a team. Mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or Master's (graduate) degree or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline. Have demonstrated aptitude for design fundamentals, have hands-on working style. Experience in design of experiments of complex systems, with multiple parameters to monitor and control. Have worked on detail design and sub-system or system integration for at least one product development cycle in R&D. Desirable experience in programming in C++ or script languages (TCL, Python,…) Be fluent in English Are creative and can logically simplify a complicated problem set Have excellent teamwork and communication skills
