Job Description:
Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex hardware engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Provides work leadership to others, and works with project management team to define product strategies and overall program schedule. Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades and enhancements, or fixes to existing products.
Responsibilities:
-Exercises considerable latitude, without appreciable direction, in determining technical objectives, and meeting program deliverables. Identifies and champions design changes/suggestions/process that will improve quality, reliability, functionality and improve time-to-market design cycle.
-Will interface with supplier community and make recommendations on supply base.
-May perform competitive assessments and analysis as necessary.
-Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives.
-Will be expected to set standards and achieve cost targets for product cost through proper design choices, component selection and/or supplier selection.
-Collaborates across all engineering disciplines (hardware, software, mechanical, thermal) to ensure product requirements are being implemented to meet program goals.
-May assume lead role on a cross-functional collaborative efforts. Sphere of influence likely to extend outside of their own functional organization.

-Power supply analysis and design expertise.
-Topology and component-level design experience in the areas of AC/DC and DC/DC conversion. Familiarity and understanding of relevant issues regarding emissions, safety, NEBS, and environmental compliance.
-Good background in analog circuit design, thermal design, and general competency in microcontroller functionality in power conversion applications.
