About SSET (Solver Solution Engineering Team)

We are part of the supply chain organization in Intel. SSET is a fast growing

team with more than 30 engineers world wide. We have staffs in US, Malaysia, 

China and Philippines. Our key roles focus on developing and sustaining Supply

Chain Management related optimization tools for Intel supply chain. As part of

expansion and new initiatives, we are looking for candidates with strong 

Operational Research/Industrial Engineering background as senior engineers in 

Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidates will work in this department 

which is very energetic, fun to work with and opportunities to growth.


The roles and responsibility of the Rule Engineer

Rule Engineer is responsible for developing and sustaining the business logic

of the current supply chain solvers. The duties include problem definition, so

lution path finding, model building and solution implementation through mathem

atical optimization methodologies.


Requirements

The successful applicant will need skills in Operations Research/Optimization

skills/Management Science/Decision Science (for example: linear programming, 

decision making). Strong problem solving and analysis skills are a must, as 

well as familiarity with commercial decision support tools (e.g. ILOG CPLEX). 

You must be a committed team player. Strong communication and team skills 

are a must. It is expected that the successful applicant with hold a M.Sc, 

M.Eng or PhD in some branch of mathematical optimization, statistics or 

Industrial (&Systems) Engineering. Demonstrated work on semiconductor supply 

chains is highly desirable as is APICS certification. Knowledge of data base 

management systems is a plus.
