job description This position is focused on asserting HP's agenda in business development, industry alliances, and technology standards for the Digital Imaging and Entertainement organization and related IPG businesses with a focus on the China market. It requires an understanding of HP's product development process, connectivity technologies, business relationship dynamics (across multiple cultures), business model development, effective internal/external facilitation and leadership of business alliance initiatives. The successful candidate shall have the following skill attributes and experiences related to responsibilities for this position:
1. Program Management — Internal HP management of external technology standards development efforts and alliance initiatives with Chinese partners. Coordination of program with product development and planning functions including product marketing and R &D based in the US. 2. Business/Financial Acumen — This person will have the ability to fully comprehend and lead complex business and technology relationships with third party companies including the extraction of revenue pools from business engagements. 3. Technical Aptitude- ability to understand digital photography, networking/connectivity technologies and standards development to support HP product and technology agendas. 4. Relationship Management — Politically, culturally savvy coupled with excellent communications skills for managing both internal HP communications and day-to-day communication and coordination with partners. 5. Able to effectively work across geographic and functional boundaries - The Business Development and Alliance organization is spread out across 5 cities including Japan. This person will need to work across the BDA team and a distributed set of business teams across HP. 6. Strong Initiative - Requires self-motivated, results-oriented business development professional 7. Excellent communication and presentation skills — ability to synthesize business value of technology, product, market, partner information and effectively communicate information internally to HP and externally to HP partners. Must speak fluent English and Mandarin 8. Negotiation skills - proven ability to negotiate directly or indirectly with industry partners and execute legal and business contracts including CDAs, Beta agreements, technology licensing, and HP brand usage.
Qualifications Education
A Bachelor's (undergraduate), Master's (graduate) in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, computer science, etc.) and Business Administration degree or combination of education and work experience.
