职位描述: The HP Inkjet Commercial Division develops leading-edge large format printers for a broad range of markets and needs worldwide, being the first world wide supplier in this printing segment. This division has a product development team in Shanghai with the need of incorporating engineers devoted to maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace, ensuring that HP Image Quality and Systems are World Class and continuously improving.
This is an exciting opportunity for students interested in developing a technical career in a dynamic international environment, learning about the latest technology on printing, in the frame of a very dynamic and growing business.
Position description:
In a large format printer, where millions and millions of drops are placed on a paper within a precision of microns to create an image, the writing system plays a fundamental rule to ensure that each of these drops is placed where, how and when they have to be. Therefore, the writing system interacts with different components and functions, like print heads, ink, color processing algorithms, sensors, pattern recognition software, dynamic mechanical systems, servos, control electronics, etc...
Writing System Engineers play lead roles in multi-discipline teams working on new products and solutions for printing and imaging. You, as an intern engineer, will work close to the writing system architects participating in the design, implementation, testing, and validating of systems and components to deliver optimized image quality, throughput, and reliability for our large format printers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include some of the following:
Modify and improve writing systems,
Understand and learn the Image Quality (IQ) concept and its attributes, how they are perceived by the costumer and how a printing system works to deliver high quality printed images.
Design and develop algorithms that improve IQ attributes, such as color, drop position errors, type of ink, paper advance, ink to paper interaction etc.
Define procedures to characterize IQ attributes.
Define and perform procedures, statistical models, advanced algorithms and tests to increase printhead live and reliability.
Understand and model root causes for drop placement errors.
Enjoy and learn.
Qualifications
2nd or last year of Master's degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline (engineering, physics, etc).
Candidate must have very high analytical and statistical skills and has to be able to logically simplify a complicated problem set.
Have creative thinking and a hands-on working style.
Experience in design of experiments of complex systems, with multiple parameters to monitor and control.
Desirable experience in programming in C++ or script languages (TCL, Python,...)
Be fluent in English
Have excellent teamwork and communication skills
