Procurement Development Mgr (PDM):
Position is responsible for all Procurement activities related to source selection, cost, & quality as it applies to our product portfolio. The PDM is the primary interface to the BU responsible for driving commodity roadmaps and strategies into our portfolio. To a great extent this involves risk mitigation strategies in the procurement arena. Responsibilities include contract/supplier management, cost analysis/negotiation as part of the RFQ process, and new product development support. This position requires strengths in project management, business case/financial analysis, and team leadership. Position interfaces with Program Managers, Development, Brand Fulfillment, Supply/Demand Planning, Procurement Engineering, and external Suppliers. Position is responsible for leading cross functional teams, integrated assembly sourcing decisions and in managing ongoing supplier operational performance.
Essential Functions
1.Facilitate interactive communication between Lenovo Supply Chain Management, Engineering, and other Lenovo organizations as well as our subcontractors & supply partners.
2.Negotiate contracts.
3.Manage the Quarterly Business Review process with the Desktop suppliers.
4.Identify cost reduction opportunities, determine targets and drive cost reduction processes.
5.Supply Chain Logistics modeling and analysis.
6.Lead Quarterly Price Negotiation Process.
7.Determine share split with Desktop partners.
8.Attend regularly scheduled meetings, commodity team meetings & weekly department meetings.
9.Develop and communicate the supply chain strategy and ensure contractual terms are being met.
10.Identify value-engineering opportunities.
11.Primary escalation path for Business Unit
12.Preparation and analysis of RFQ's/RFI's.
13.Cost analysis.
14.Work with integration partners.
