From large-scale peer-to-peer systems, Web2.0 service backend to multi-core within a chip, distributed system plays a key role. System Research Group in Microsoft Research Asia has a research agenda that focuses on both the theory and practice side of distributed systems. The team has built and researched large-scale reliable storage systems, social-network computing platforms, peer-to-peer architectures and measurement, as well as cutting-edge platform for researching and developing such complex systems. Many of our results have successfully transferred to product groups and are serving the customers every day. In addition, the team has publications in leading system conferences and workshops such as OSDI, NSDI, ICDCS, USENIX, WWW, ICNP, HotOS, HotDep, Eurosys and IPTPS.
SRG is one of the focused growth area in MSRA. We are looking for top talents in the area of operating system, distributed system, peer-to-peer systems, compilers, performance measurements and distributed algorithms. We are offering positions for exceptional people who are passionate to develop and research new system architectures. The applicants should hold a degree in either Computer Science or Computer Engineering, have a solid knowledge of distributed algorithms and experience of building complex system software. The applicants must also be passionate to learn by doing, and are good team players as well as leaders.
Positions are open for candidates at all levels, including Assistant Researcher, Associate Researcher, Researcher, Project Leader and Research Manager. We particularly encourage applicants from senior candidates with comprehensive knowledge of system research.
