PTD - Technology Manager - Beijing
Goals/Mission
1). Monitoring the technology development trend in power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector.
2). Reporting on the progress / break through of new technology on T&D equipment of Chinese R&D institutes and companies
3). Identifying the business chances for Siemens on new product incubating, funding, partnership and acquisition.
4). Representation of PTD in selective Chinese technical associations Working Partners/Contacts Contact with external R&D teams in universities, institutes in T&D field. Coordinate internally with business units, corporate technology and TI in headquarters
Tasks
1). Monitoring and reporting the T&D technology development in China.
2). Analyzing and assessment of business chances from new technology and products.
3). Daily contact with R&D organizations and research teams in China in the field of T&D.
4). Developing proposals and business plans for new product incubating, funding, partnership and acquisition.
Education
Master degree or above required Ph.D. preferred. Major in Electrical system and automation or Electric Engineering. Applicants majoring science and technology information, or innovation management, + relevant technical experience are also welcome.
Knowledge/Languages
Understanding of both T&D primary and secondary equipment knowledge on China R&D resources in T&D sector knowledge of innovation economics and management Good command of both written and spoken English Communication Skills market analysis and business situation assessment
Experience
5+ years of full time working experience in one of the below areas in T&D sector:
1). R&D engineer
2). R&D / innovation management
3). Patent agentry
4). Research foundation
5). Government (science and technology commission) 6). Industrial associations (electrical, mechanical)
