Department: Laser R&DFLSA Status: Exempt Position Description: Responsible for the development and maintenance of standard and custom product software. Assist in the integration and application of analog and digital electronic circuits for data entry, motion control, sensing, actuation, communication, and display. Reports To: Manager
- Software Design Position Qualifications: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related degree and experience. Proficient in instrumentation used for diagnostics and control. PC DOS and Windows programming skills required. Must possess verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills sufficient for good communication. Possess motor skills sufficient to perform detailed assembly tasks without assistance. Regular attendance & punctuality are a must. Must have ability to juggle multiple projects while following through on all required tasks. Position Criteria:

4.Ability to interface positively with all levels of personnel and to be a team player.
5.Conducts and dresses in a professional manner at all times.
6.Other duties as assigned. Functions:
1.Design and maintain software for standard product and custom systems according to the TELESIS software guidelines and customer requirements.
2.Integrate software development activities with hardware development activities.
3.Specify software and hardware components to meet performance and cost objectives.
4.Comply with all industry or customer standards which are applicable or stated in the design specification.
5.Supervise technicians in the assembly of prototypes and test requirements during development.
6.Assist engineering activities as needed in the support of the system design.
7.Assist with detailed documentation packages; i.e. drawings, files, bills of materials, and any assembly, installation operation, and maintenance instruction material.
8.Provide support to manufacturing and field service for startup and training.
9.Provide test engineer with test evaluation criteria
10.Provide technical support to customers, sales, manufacturing, custom engineering and customer service. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CRITERIA
1.Support the 80
-20 rule that states designs will accommodate the majority of the intend customer base for standard product.
2.Provide high level design capabilities to enable our products to lead the market.
3.Ensure that products are fully documented and tested prior to release to production.
4.Provide for product manager, customer and company wide input into the design process.
5.Support current products through re
-design (i.e. market response to product).
6.Support current product designs through product improvement (i.e. market response to product).
7.Ensure new product development meets the schedule and specification as determined by the BD
C.
8.Support production with the necessary bills and documentation and training to enable production to work at its highest efficiency.
9.Support marketing sales and project engineering with the necessary product configurations specifications and documentation to enable efficient sales and order entry.
