Function: R&D Solution/Specification Design

Location: Beijing

Job Title: Wireless Application Research Engineers

Description:
Participate to new projects for the wireless data application systems, with a focus on Chinese specific standards and also the development of OMA based data application platform. The work consists in participating to the effort on research, design and implementation of a new smart and innovative system to succeed to the current China Mobile/China Unicom and international wireless data application standards. The work is challenging with opportunities for recognition, growth and advancement. Teamwork with members of diverse cultures, movement among technical organizations and the opportunity to contribute to multiple teams are characteristic of this environment.

The work will consist on contributing to the specification objectives in one or several of the following areas:
 Design and implementation of DLC (MAC/ARQ/RLC) and Convergence layers algorithms.
 Design advanced self organizing concepts for Push-To-X, Video Surveillance, Pushmail, Auto-Office specifications
 cross layer concepts to optimize the performances of the system
 system simulation and testing
 contribution to standard bodies to lead innovative ideas and intellectual property developed into the standard

Requirement:
Specific Knowledge/Skills Accountabilities, duties and Responsibilities

 Comfortable in an international environment. Intercultural management skills. English fluency;
 Has a strong motivation for having product and customer impact with technology
 Expertise in the Wireless and IP space;
 Finds innovative solutions for using technology in meeting customer needs and improve cost/performance of future broadband wireless systems;
 Effectively works with others to ensure program goals are met;
 Become an important contributor to this major technical program;
 Demonstrates communication skills to advocate concepts and ideas. Uses reports and presentations to influence individual or group decision-making process.

Knowledge and Skills capabilities required:

1. Bachelor or above degree, major in Computer Science or a related discipline
2. Experiences working with Linux Operating System, including HA
3. 3+ years of J2EE experiences
4. Familiar with Oracle or a similar RDBMS
5. Familiar with HTTP/SSL
6. Familiar with TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, POP3
7. Familiar with communication proptocals, such as SMS, WAP, MMS, and etc.
8. General knowledge of one or several mobile application standards, such as OMA, SIP
9. Exeperience in testing
10. Quick-learning skill
11. Good interpersonal and communication skills, good team spirit and adaptability

Additional qualifications and experience that would be a plus include:
1. C++ developing
2. Familiar with UML is plus
3. Famiar with XML, HTML, Web Server
4. Use of a configuration management tools such as Clearcase, Continuus or CVS
5. MSEE/MSCS
6. Good oral and written English skill
