Application Software

The programmer will use: Libtorrent, mp4 / theora for the video, ogg audio, postgre sql, mplayer classic, microsoft visual C++.

Platforms: Windows

Products and services:

The programmer will create a software application to give customers access to a library of videos.

There will be a website that gives information about videos. There will be links those videos; when a customer clicks on that link, the application software opens and plays the video.

Technology:

The product will integrate a video player and a bittorrent system. The"torrent" part should be able to download chunks of data in proper order so that the video part already downloaded can be played.

The player will be a modified version of"mplayer classic" which should be able to switch subtitles and audio streams.

Project Planning:

Milestone 1 :
Create a console bittorrent client with libttorrent and modify the algorithm in order to download the chunks sequentially (to be able to play the already downloaded part)

Milestone 2 :
Incorporate the torrent functionality directly into Media player classic. Modify Media player classic so that the customer can see the progression of the video downloaded. The player should be able to play the already downloaded part.

Milestone 4:
Implement a protection system.

Milestone 5:
Website creation. Login, browsing video library, forums, payment, account details.
