Group Overview

The goal of Web Search & Data Mining Group of MSR Asia is to drive the next 
generation of Web search by leveraging data mining, machine learning, and kn
owledge discovery techniques for information analysis, organization, retriev
al, and visualization.We are creating a large-scale experimental Web search 
platform that can efficiently store, parse, index, and search billions of We
b pages and other types of documents. The search platform is flexible enough
 to allow for testing of various state-of-the-art search techniques that hav
e been created at the lab using new technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities
1. Data mining on large scale Web data set
2. Applications based on search technology

Required Qualifications

If you are
1. Familiar with data mining or information retrieval 
2. Good coding capability (C/C++). 
3. Having the following backgrounds (one of them) is a big plus:
        Distribution system, machine learning, natural language processing 
4. More than 6 months full-time with Supervisor's permission
5. Good communication skill, patient and easy to get along with
