ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:SQE is responsible to manage any technical/quality aspect related to Suppliers. He/she is in charge to qualify new Suppliers, carry out periodic audits to verify compliance with qualification requirements, carry out Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions in case of escaping defects. All activities have to be carried out in tight relationship with other GE Oil & Gas Functions (Manufacturing, Engineering.) and SuppliersThe SQE is also responsible to properly address the Suppliers Deviation Requests and manage the on the job inspections according to the agreed Quality Control Plans.Main goal is to continuously improve the level of Supplier Quality, reducing both escaping defects and associated Cost of Quality, according the relevant metrics in place.In specific Forgings Commodity requires experience in the following areas and processes:
-Metallic Materials characteristics according to the main international codes
-Design and optimization of open die forging processes
-Heat treatment technologies and relevant controls
-Non destructive test techniques with particular regards to UT
-Testing of metallic materials characteristics
-Metallic materials macro & microstructureIt is requested experience on open die forgings and the parameters that affect the process. Experience on defects detections and capability to evaluate materials characteristics.Components of interest are statoric and rotoric parts for rotating machines.The SQE will have assigned a fleet of Suppliers and will be in charge to assure the respect of the requested quality level.The SQE is requested to travel frequently to meet Suppliers for new qualifications, quality improvements by specific corrective actions, inspections activities etcQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanical or Materials Engineering Degree
- Strong to technical expertise
- Communications capabilities to work in a cross
-functional environment
- Self organization, planning, and leadership skills
- Good knowledge of Oil & Gas products
- Fluent English
- Availability to travelDESIRED:
